C-DAC Common Admission Test (C-CAT)

The Centre For Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a research and development organization under the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt of India.C-DAC provides several courses in the field of advanced computing and software development.

Admission to all PG Diploma cources of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's Computerised Common Admission Test(C-CAT).Every year C-CAT is usually conducted in June(for August admissions) and December(for February admissions).Candidates who clear C-CAT will only be considered for admission to C-DAC's PG Diploma courses on the basis of their C-CAT ranks and centre/course preferences.

C-CAT Test Papers

The medium of C-CAT is English.C-CAT has three sections (A,B,C) of 1 hour duration each.As shown in table, depending on the courses applied by the candicate, he/she will have to either appear for just one paper(section A)or two test papers(section A and B) or all three papers(section A,B & C).

Every section will have 50 objective-type question.Each question in C-CAT  will have four choices as possible answers of which only one will be correct.There will be +3 marks for each correct answer

and -1 for each wrong answer,and 0 marks for each un-attemptedquestion.The maimum marks a candidate can obtain in any one section of C-CAT is 150.
